everything is mansplaining including people who want to converse with me about a topic that I brought up, in public, on a platform meant for talking to strangershttps://www.pcgamer.com/guild-wars-2-writers-fired-following-heated-twitter-exchange-with-streamer/ …

if it had been a random fan though I'm not sure I would feel differently. I know I would be fired by my company if I engaged with one of our clients and trash talked them like that.

"be a sensible adult who can behave professionally" doesn't seem to be a general requirement in the game dev industry
-
probably the case. from what I've read the main requirement seems to be tolerance of crunch time working hours.

Nah, that's asinine; she was fired for exercising her First Amendment Rights -Wasn't on Company Time or shackled to an NDA (Why do we have freedom of expression if we're going to run around though policing everyone?) *This is treating adults like children; let em dispute/rant
-
No opinion on whether she should or should not have been fired (don't know complete history. But 1A only applies to a gov't action, it's inapplicable vis-à-vis a private entity action.
-
*Perhaps, I sympathies with those who feel they should be able to Fire whoever whenever they want; which is why she should quite if they're mistreating her- Companies have to compete for the Best employees; If they suck ass, so will their product;
-
Firing their Employee for expressing an opinion- makes ArenaNet look really BAD (IMO) *May be legal- but isn't right; unlawful termination in my book Because Virtue supersedes Legislation (Just because it was illegal to harbor a Jew in Nazi Germany didn't make u wrong to do-it)
-
Having the right and it being the right thing to do are often different.

I don't think you can detach it from the politics like that; the opposing position here is that by arguing with her without her explicit invitation, said contractor was _harrassing_ her
