Yeah. I guess I mean politics not in the day-to-day sense, but in the deeper, social choice, structure-of-collective-action sense. In the words of one political scientist, "politics is the authoritative allocation of value"

Ultimately among social sciences, I think politics, culture and economics all have a decent claim to be the most 'fundamental'. Technology is one level deeper, then you start hitting biology and the hard sciences. That's my shorthand model, for what it's worth

I think your point is that politics is in many ways more powerful/fundamental than the other stuff people spend their time on, and on this I guess I won't disagree. It is really important
