Here's how a problem-situation can (profitably) shape your observation. Right now, society is, through trial and error, creating ways to reason about infinite regress, without succumbing to it. Society is "solving" a Halting problem. Not "the" Halting problem.
organizing society the way we have seems inherently unstable and I can't see a way to combat the anomie and normlessness that's been setting in lately without a major revision to the way we do things

Being concerned with normlessness is reasonable. If you can somehow use that to influence The Process, I would endorse that.

Your not big enough to make a "major revision", though. Think about cancer mutations: it has its ideas about how the body should run. Everything should be liver cells! My little solution should be universalised! Errors are easy to make, hard to perceive.

"I'm going to ride this late-capitalism beast into the ground like that cowboy from Dr. Strangelove!" Is not the universalizable idea we should rely on as keepers of the future.
