Here's how a problem-situation can (profitably) shape your observation. Right now, society is, through trial and error, creating ways to reason about infinite regress, without succumbing to it. Society is "solving" a Halting problem. Not "the" Halting problem.
what if the problem is the result of the neo-liberal consumptive "paradise"?

That's reasonable. No problem arises ex nihilo. Problems are inevitable. Solve one, and you create more. This is a good for people who like to solve problems. Bad for search-branches that don't.

If you are arguing that neoliberalism is *solely* a source of problems, forgive me if my incredulous tone somehow bridges the text-emotive divide. Neoliberalism came about through massively parallel social evolution selecting for solutions. Momento Mori.

neo-liberalism is just the latest iteration of the problem of industrially powered consumerism. that its more efficient and more universal than past iterations is the reason why it's accelerated the problem this much. consumerism is not an adequate system of meaning-making

"Neoliberalism" is the fruit of the metaprocess. In fact, "neoliberalism" is just the token some problem-solvers are using to reason about the problems the metaprocess creates. It doesn't contain the explanatory content to *solve* the problems they wish to solve, though.

We can move onto the next iteration without pruning any more processes.

Fuck, if shoplifting has been legalized in Austin, we are nearing the bottom of the stack for "neoliberalism". Let's hope anarchy treats our edifice of wealth creation kindly.
