What's the most fun or productive thing you did today?

time is fake, only the monotonically increasing count since the epoch is real
-
Relying on the monotonically increasing epoch can cause interesting problems, btw. TFW you need an epoch for your epoch.
-
example? I feel comfortable saying 99% of the time problems I have are related to working in cyclical time. linear time is pretty straightforward.
-
People changing their system clocks to 2022 and back again just for fun. (People who do this deny it until you show them the logs). The good old days of Windows GetTickCount() only being 32 bits and wrapping every 49 days.
-
When the 32-bit Unix time wraps in 2038 is gonna be hilarious.

someone somewhere will still be running an on-prem server that they haven't updated since 1995
-
Yep. There are going to be a lot of forgotten mystical things that have always worked that simply stop, go very strange, or just chug along happily in the belief that it’s 1970. Looking forward to it.

if Terrence had been a *nix programmer he would have modeled the time wave as the eternal looping timeline running from 1970 to 2038
