Been thinking a lot about the word 'bioethical'. It immediately calls to mind many of the topics I find so important (cloning, genetic editing, reproduction), but I don't really like the suffix 'ethical', since I think these issues are no longer a matter of ethics.

I have a strange relationship to the pro-life christian crowd. Frankly, they are one of the few groups that seems to actually be awake to these issues. The vast majority of people are sleepwalking into a future of techno-biological bizarrity.

In a way, I think these pro-life crowd is also responsible for the sleepwalking. By being caught up in their own bizarre religious dogma and antisocial behavior, they cause discredit to concerns around cloning, genetech, etc. "God Hates Fags" becomes a distraction.
