In related news, it is still strange and wonderful to contemplate that: 1) x^0 = 1 for all x != 0 (It is undefined for x = 0.) 2) e^(iπ) = -1.

It is equally strange and wonderful to contemplate that in one sense, these relationships are only true because they have been defined that way: arguably, there is nothing in nature one can point to that says "this is the actual rule."
