This is pretty much the correct view. Lots of jobs have cultural inertia re: gender, and it makes much more sense to devote efforts to change that to those fields where really proficient practitioners can provide a 10x impact so as not to lose out on any new Ada Lovelaces

it's true and perhaps you can reframe it as hard vs soft skills and how useful it is for people to be equal in opportunity for access to hard skills (not saying there aren't any in manual labour ofc)
