i wish people would stop making fun of things like self care apps that could greatly help people who suffer from mental illness

Apps can be great but I think it's pretty clear he's toying with the idea of overreliance
-
hunger and thirst are basic human needs that many people forget to / are unable to act on at times. using "shitting" is a way to make --
-
our basic human needs a joke... so no, i don't think there should be a line drawn, i think he should make fun of something else.

telling people like "dude i regularly forget to eat, it is actually a problem"
-
the only crit i could feel is legit is that there are already tons of reminder apps out there, but "people don't need reminders" ain't 1
-
yeah exactly
-
anyway i wish it really wasn't so hard for people to do a simple "oh shit i didn't consider that, my bad"

I use reminders to help me through the week. My main 1 reminds me to drink water. I sometimes don't care enough to shower. Reminders help.
-
Because crippling depression can be so overbearing that just those things are easy to forget that they can make you feel better.
-
Or simply you're too tired to. Having that little push from time to time has been instrumental in keeping me going on bad days.

even if you have mental illness & find them silly, why bother shitting on em if other people find them helpful?? I see that a lot too
-
anyway, I want aloe app badly, bc my brain also likes to ignore basic human functionality in favor of worrying about nothing!

The old "not a problem for me so not a real problem at all" is the ultimate privilege. Not learning to be a humanist is another.

No different than making fun of a person in a wheelchair for not being able to walk
