@danielpunkass do your BT headphone have a mic? Could be using that mic for Siri that is lowering its perfs.

@Fabien_UX They may. But even wired headphones cause problems. Seems like an area Apple needs to focus work on. -
@danielpunkass again, do these wired headphone have a mic? If so they'll override the default ones… -
@Fabien_UX No, they do not. It's a slightly different problem though: plug any headphones in and Siri responsiveness is delayed.

-
@danielpunkass It makes me wonder if the Air Pods have been optimized for this use case specifically. -
@curtisbridges Yes, if the M1 generally alleviates the problem, it's going to be a strong encouragement to use M1 phones.

@danielpunkass Siri is worthless in my car for anything other than “Call mom” or “call my wife mobile”. All else is gibberish. -
@SimplyImagined It's a glaring hole in the promise of Siri. SO many people must use it routinely from cars and with headphones attached. -
@danielpunkass Another failure is Siri around other people: “Hey, can y’all be quiet while I talk to Siri?” I prefer typing every time.
-
-
@danielpunkass in latest in depth article on Siri and machine learning, Federighi was saying how key controlling the mic he was to Siri. -
@danielpunkass I take the same approach. Maddening. -
@danielpunkass I hate that all Bluetooth headphones/speakers come with a bad mic, no way to disable. I want to always use the built-in mic! -
@danielpunkass do you need us to call someone for you? Looks like that might be a cry for help…
