A security change in 10.11.4 treats all preference panes as untrusted, even if signed. Affects 3rd party + Apple!pic.twitter.com/QI7EByid54

@danielpunkass NLC and Hazel both work for me. Are you sure you are not missing some intermediate certificate or something like that?

@ozaed You’re double clicking them from a download?

@danielpunkass Ok, I don't know about a fresh install, but if they are installed from a previous OS X version, they work.

@ozaed Normally it’s broken by Apple verifying the Developer ID on the binary, but that’s not working for preference panes on 10.11.4.

This affects 3rd party developers e.g. @Noodle_Hazel. Terrible UX for first-time downloaders. Casts doubt on trustworthiness of developers.

@danielpunkass @nevali not seeing that error with that pane on 10.11.4 here. how are you triggering it?

        0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
      2. Daniel Jalkut ‏@danielpunkass Mar 31

@ppiixx @nevali Double clicking it to install. It only comes up when you’re first installing/opening it.

@danielpunkass That’s odd. I wonder where that’s at, because I don’t see that. Maybe it’s because of the .prefPane’s location?

      2. Daniel Jalkut ‏@danielpunkass Mar 31

@JoshHrach It happens when you double click it to install, which is a standard convention for installing these panels.

@danielpunkass Ah, I thought you meant just navigating to them. My mistake. I haven’t installed one lately.
