Now when I’m asked the question, “Am I on the right track?” I respond by asking a series of questions to try and help expose people to their own assumptions about what the path is, how it should look, and what their deepest motivations for doing this actually are.

Ok, interesting. You seem to be presupposing a vipassana framework of enlightenment. That's totally fine, but I'm talking about dropping the presuppositions and seeing what actually emerges from inquiry into what someone wants out of meditation.

That the Three Trainings of Morality, Concentration, and Wisdom will not work is a very strong statement: consider that this thought’s arising might depend on your specific conditions and not reflect accurately on the efficacy of that framework.

Also, is Twitter really the best format for a discussion that might reasonable go on for hours were it to happen person to person?
