    Pelosi’s been leader since 2003 and has presided over three lost elections, while her party this year is running on change. It’s a fairly unique situation and many candidates want to get past it by dumping Pelosi.

    How specifically did the fundraising $$ help Tlaib? Her campaign canvassed 50,000 households that voted in the Democratic primary in 2016. Nearly 90,000 people showed up in the polls. Tlaib's campaign believed it got the message out to the entire electorate thanks to ads.

    This may sound intuitive but in the most famous case -- AOC -- the opposite was true. I note how money advantages or near parity helped Dana Balter, Ben Jealous and Stacey Abrams.
