I frame the strength of rich industrialised mixed economies (with bank bailouts: don't claim a 'free market') as being evolutionary; they can generate a bunch of weird mutations - some of which are fabulously successful. A framing which agrees with your article.

But evolution doesn't care about individuals - and the American system can't even seem to do universal healthcare. So when working on one's ideas: remember Einstein kept his day job at the patent office & despite groundbreaking 1905 work was only assoc. professor from 1909.
