In the words of @patrickc: "Talent is uniformly distributed while opportunity is not." This is one of the most important problems humanity can solve & I'm excited to see people working on it. Great job @danielgross and @narang_rishi, & @stripe:https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/09/technology/talent-opportunity-gap-pioneer-fund.html …

We actually just looked into and went through the application for this before I saw this Tweet. It struck me as more geared towards tech buzzwords (e.g. blockchain, "what have you built") than Einstein-like aptitude.

Have you seen the entire system, including the tasks you can do post registration? We have many sub-components designed to highlight different types of talent.

I think so, like Raven's matrices. I'm not saying it's bad; just that it seems strongly geared towards buzzwords/popularity/etc. Maybe that's the best readily available approximation of Einstein-like aptitude? Not sure. I just wanted to offer a little naive feedback :)

Ultimately it’s an experiment! Unlike any that’s been run, to my knowledge. We’ll operate like a startup, learn and adjust as we go. Goal is to highlight both The Ramanujans and The Beatles.
