Beyond iodine, you could also put a lot of other things into salt, that systems are otherwise poor at delivering to people. Can you put more generalized vitamins into salt? And there are very few companies that make most of the salt...

It does not really matter what metric you use. The fact is that iodine deficiency has proven negative impact on mental abilities.

Unfortunately the water is the problem as is the chlorine & fluoride dumped in water that exacerbates the iodine deficiency. Let water go room temperature smell it if smells like swimming pool is chlorine. If drink & immediately more thirsty & headache is fluoride.

If you drink bottled water is okay as long as didn't get hot in which case if in plastic bottle you drinking estrogen mimicers which can screw with your hormones. I prefer non distilled spring water & drink out of glass bottles.
