The article was very difficult to read without knowing the context, admittedly. Context is important, he's not endorsing anything of the kind. This is about the dangers of shared delusion and false memories. If you have admired Dennett for a long time this should be obvious.

Love you Prof. Dennett, but this piece is badly reasoned and filled with gross claims: “If he abused X, why did X still spend time with him”

Holy shit. What is fucking wrong with you? You would endorse this pile of ignorant vomit, where the author demonstrates a complete lack of familiarity with abuse victims (ie there is no "normal" response)? Your endorsement is nauseating.

I'm very disappointed you support this farse of an article and sloppy thinking contained within.

this was incredible to read. Looks like many of the responses you're getting don't remember or never were aware of the repressed memory hysteria in the 1980's. Those were 'victims' that accused and ultimately sent to jail innocent people.

except 'repressed memories' were not part of Sandusky case. This isn't like the stupid BS McMartin preschool

Best case: Even if it is assumed that everything written in this review is fact, your endorsement of the style of this content is disappointing.
