We're all against Trump's policies, I suppose, but calling for a witch-hunt on account of accusations is undignified and uncivilised. Anybody can be accused of anything; it could happen to you too. The American public sphere is becoming indistinguishable from a tabloid talk show.

um what? you mean the way we want everyone to have health care, want help for the poor instead of the rich, want freedom for gays, and all those other un-American ideas?

Without evidence, it would indeed. If you lack the imagination to come up with plausible explanations in legio of such accusations, especially against controversial public figures, other than misconduct on the accused's part, you should not engage in public debate on the subject.

And regarding your "locker room talk": What was actually said, as I remember it, was that some women l e t (that is, consent to) rich and powerful men do this-and-that with them, which is hardly more than a truism. I let (pretty) women do the equivalent to me when they want to.

If I don't want somebody to do something then I would. more or less politely, tell her to f* off. I don't expect people to be mind readers. Clearly expressing my will is my own personal responsibility. And, since you ask, I wouldn't prostitute myself for getting or keeping a job.

A story told by a person allegedly involved is not evidence. Anybody is free to file a police report, however; no special inquisition counsel is needed. But spreading such deeply stigmatizing allegations publicly on the basis of (yet) unsubstantiated claims, is kind of depraved.
