Huh. Well, might be worth a look. I always figured that joke was perfectly fine but that it was over during the time it takes to say it. Like, a clever sixteen-year-old kinda joke. But Daniel Dennett is obviously more clever than I.

the thing is, religious groups defend each other like tribes. By resisting tribalism, atheists are a group that is persecuted and defenseless - at least until atheist republic gains more strength. Even belonging in a silly religion (like all of them) grants much-needed protection

“Worlds fastest growing” is really semantical garble. 1000 members to 2000 over a decade is 100% growth Meanwhile Islam and Christianity are growing 70% and 34% over the next 40 years but considering they’re both over a billion adherents each already...
