The first of these Epstein plane passengers to publicly support Epstein's victims will earn, from me, a copy of each of the books the others have written on morality.pic.twitter.com/opV0774L6K

In 2002 I was offered a ride to TED in the plane of a wealthy science philanthropist of whom I had never heard. I accepted. I am not clairvoyant. For all I know I may also have shaken hands with an embezzler or a drug smuggler somewhere. Of course I support Epstein's victims.

Thank you for saying that. The issue is not who knew what then, but why the academics who moved in his circles--and benefited professionally--haven't (yet?) been more outspoken now that they know. Silence from prominent academics doesn’t help those who’ve been abused/exploited.

Exactly this. If you accept a plane ride from a mysterious, extremely wealthy person whom you know nothing about - ask yourself why they're offering. Due diligence requires you to at least inquire who you're lending your good standing to, and why.

Just in case either of you have done or will do anything awful (I know nothing about you) I hereby apologize to the world for boosting your ratings.

Interacting with a person on Twitter is very different from accepting a private jet flight from someone. Also you’re missing the point, purposely I believe. Yes, you tweeted about Epstein in 2016, but you never once disclosed your interaction (albeit brief) with him. Why?

This entire tweet chain is in appropriate given what has happened to the victims. You might reel in your moral outrage and and try casting it in the right direction. In fact, quit fishing all together. You rather suck at it.

The MO of a man like Epstein is to create camouflage for himself by offering, often out of the blue, the perks of his wealth to unsuspecting but highly-esteemed people. I don't mean to play "gotcha!" as much as educate and warn about this strategy, which is common and effective.

Good advice. Do you support open-ended demands for penance due to Dr. Dennett’s lapse? Should your support for victims be presumed? Have you stated it? But his shouldn’t? He should step forward now when he might quite literally be subject to federal questioning on the matter?

Humility would serve you better and bathe you in a more flattering light. We are very broken and until we ALL take individual responsibility to fix it, it will remain that way.
