Whole point of a census is to count a country's citizens,legal residents. Since there is debate about how many illegals there are in USA,

So, the purpose of the question in your mind would be to ferret out immigrants for deportation or to guage the size of the non-citizen immigrant population? To what end? Would including the question reduce the primary purpose of holding a census, diminish its value?

Dennett is in America, most immigrants are from Latin America. What is there to fear? Christianity is already dominant in the US, and Catholicism isn't as severe as Islam.
