You gotta slow down your power editing
@daniela_witten -
this! also being selective & make it clear which ones you have / have not edited? my wife also talks about this happening in meetings, where MC1 reiterates point from woman and gets acknowledgement from MC2...

You need to make sure you use 'tracked changes' and perhaps add a version control section at the end of the document summarising contributions on each iteration of drafts. It's still annoying if work is not respected/acknowledged but this is not just a male thing unfortunately.
-
A nice suggestion. Of course, in an ideal world, we would have collaborators who didn't need scorekeeping to value our contributions. And yes, not JUST a male thing - but it is highly disproportionately gendered and that is important to keep in mind.

Call them out.

So you think this would help but it doesn't. Regardless of how bad and blatant the reality is, you always look like a self-promoting, overly-emotional, ingrate. This strategy only works if you have credibility. Women generally don't.

Version control is solving that problem elegantly, gives an unequivocal record of your work and nobody will be able to claim it.
-
And then you become a "petty point scorer" for keeping track of who did what. It's a lose-lose.
