Given the events of the last few weeks, it is kind of wild that isn't the most pressing issue in UK politics right now. At what point will you people stop complaining and start doing what I tell you?

Depending on your politics, call it an information commons, or a communist public sphere, or isegoria. Whatever you call it, a democratic media system is necessary if we are to enjoy true liberty at last.

BBC takes it cues from govt, with minority report qualifications from the opposition. Part of its current confusion derives from the fact that the opposition is itself opposed by the elements of Labour that identify most closely with the existing state form.

This is interesting. Thing is, the BBC's coverage is a feature of its being part of the state's institutional array. Structural reform to democratise it is needed.

A media system that cannot describe itself and its place in the political order with rough accuracy is a more or less elaborate mystification.

The shock revelation that people say nasty things on Facebook has led the news on all day. I am not one to exaggerate the intelligence of journalists, but they clearly know that the story is ridiculous.
