by the way. old english is a language option on ao3. the only fic written in actual old english instead of like, shakespearean misspellings, is, of course, spirk.

absolutely fascinating that a) this exists at all & b) i can understand a few words bc they're similar to modern english & german??
i love how this is so wildly different from any modern language but you can still see echoes of it w/ níewe=new, frægn=fragen (german for ask), etc
