Nope. He/they were missing in action as a credible opposition just when we needed them most. He should have made way ages ago for someone who had more chance. We have a huge Tory majority because of them.

There's an overdeveloped victim mentality in Labour's leadership. As a result, all attempts to draw attention to problems pertaining to either the character or actions of Corbyn and his close allies are presented as a smear, no matter how indefensible or credible the accusation.

I agree. When we start talking as if some people are beyond scrutiny and - more than that - are infallible, it's a very dangerous place to be. It's how Trump's supporters are - utterly brainwashed into thinking every utterance in the media about Trump is a lie.

The leadership was too reluctant to come out and attack the smears - in the courts if necessary. The PLP was disunited and the individuals courting the media to undermine were largely ignored by the leadership. Action was needed. I hope lessons have been learned.
