I also enjoyed the child behind me during HUGO who was clearly brought to that movie thinking it was for kids and blurted out with tearful frustration halfway through the film “WHAT’S HAPPENING?!”

What’s your favorite audience reaction at the theater during a movie. Mine is the woman in her 60s(?) who shouted “OH MY GOD, SHE’S PREGNANT!” during CAROL in a scene where Therese is vomiting.

The Fault In Our Stars, right after augustus died. the entire audience was sniffling and/or sobbing and right when the movie cut to dead silence I heard someone whisper “she’s better off, he was so annoying” followed by “MOM SHHHH” I about lost it.

My fist showing of Into the Spiderverse included a young girl a few rows behind me loudly whispering in the middle of it "Can I be Spider-Man?" that about killed me. Representation matters.

Watched an anniversary screening of "The Princess Bride". A kid in the audience was seeing it for the 1st time. When Inigo and Fezzik find Westley, this little boy start scream-crying uncontrollably "He can't be DEAD! He didn't SAVE her!" His parents desperately try to shush him

When Westley's revived by the Miracle Pill, kid jumps up on his chair so fast he wings popcorn two or three seats back and starts cheering "SEE! I TOLD you he couldn't be dead!" entire audience claps and cheers.
