  2. If this Consumer Alert prevents even one Michigander from turning over personal information or money, it will have served its purpose of beating scammers at their own game.

  5. It is not lost on me that I will humbly accept this honor in its inaugural year. Ruth Bader Ginsburg embodied the essence of a trailblazer. Her lifetime commitment to advancing gender equality and equal protection for all persons set a standard I strive to meet.

Those who wear a badge carry the burden of protecting the public, as well as the burden of everything the badge is supposed to represent. Mr. Lubahn is being held accountable for not abiding by the high standards LEO’s must meet to be effective in the communities they serve.

My office is pleased to see Mr. Higgins arraigned in Michigan. Our focus remains on holding those who seek to do violence against elected officials—and therefore undermine our democracy—accountable.

Home help services are a valuable part of the care needed by many Medicaid beneficiaries. Those who think no one is watching this program for fraud and try to game the system will be held accountable.

I’ll say it again: bad actors will do whatever it takes. FEMA will not contact you until you have called their agency or applied for assistance. Anyone who contacts you unsolicited and claims to be a government employee or from FEMA is a scammer.

In times like these, public service means everything for our state. Today, take a moment to reflect on our state’s many public servants working to get us through these unprecedented times. We thank you for your dedication and contribution.

Of the 374 MI youth that were serving life without parole sentences, 234 have been resentenced. The real question is when we sentence youthful offenders, are we doing so to be rehabilitative or punitive? More from my interview with here:

I encourage GEICO customers to check for correspondence from the company. Unfortunately, bad actors will go to great lengths to steal personal information, and all of us should be checking account statements and credit reports for unauthorized activity.

I will never get used to watching officials enact laws just for the sake of furthering discrimination. Trans kids already are at enormous risk of suicide. If you ran for office just to hurt vulnerable children, you have no business being in govt. My heart aches for these kids.

My office is dedicated to holding drug companies accountable for their actions. We are particularly focused on behavior fueling the opioid epidemic and this settlement, in which Michigan will receive over $4,000,000, serves as a win in the fight against a national crisis.
