    Home help services are a valuable part of the care needed by many Medicaid beneficiaries. Those who think no one is watching this program for fraud and try to game the system will be held accountable.

    Allegedly, Saunders-Davenport submitted false claims to Medicaid for home help care never actually provided and also during periods when beneficiaries were hospitalized and not receiving home help services at all.

    I’ll say it again: bad actors will do whatever it takes. FEMA will not contact you until you have called their agency or applied for assistance. Anyone who contacts you unsolicited and claims to be a government employee or from FEMA is a scammer.

    FEMA has offered funds to pay for the funeral expenses of people who have died of COVID-19 since Jan. 20, 2020, but FEMA does not contact people before they register.

    This ongoing settlement not only means a significant amount of money for Michigan each year, it also serves as ongoing accountability for the tobacco industry and betterment of our country’s health. This year, Michigan will receive more than $312 million.

    I encourage GEICO customers to check for correspondence from the company. Unfortunately, bad actors will go to great lengths to steal personal information, and all of us should be checking account statements and credit reports for unauthorized activity.

    We're told the breach occurred between Jan. 21 and March 1.

    I will never get used to watching officials enact laws just for the sake of furthering discrimination. Trans kids already are at enormous risk of suicide. If you ran for office just to hurt vulnerable children, you have no business being in govt. My heart aches for these kids.
