We don’t want to criticize for the sake of criticizing. If is planning a swap to get reserves back from local banks, as part of paying the eurobonds, this is positive for the country. It’s precisely the “n7ella 7obbiyan” portion of my suggestion.

In 6 days, interview on was seen by a mere 1600 people. So many important information and perspectives yet so little people saw this. As much as I hate having to force feed info to people (always hated foie-gras)

Mazbout. One thing Lebanon has going for it is that a lot (if not most) of the PEP & Co. money is still in the system — courtesy of high yields on “safe” deposits. Seek an ye shall find.

Yaani... 🤦🏽‍♀️🤬😫 How to make things worse? Bring the vultures in. The nerds, Dan Azzi and others have been warning against exactly this. Only a few people care and know what can be done, but they're not calling shots.

Our banking geniuses sold a chunk of their eurobonds in the last week or two to foreign investors, instead of doing the swap with , once again demonstrating their investment acumen at buying high and selling low. Good job damaging yourselves and the country.

Thus the argument now is on who gets that authority. One god-like figure or a committee representing all the sects and political parties?

The Capital Controls law is ready, & essentially similar to current practices by banks, so why hasn’t it been passed? It’s because whoever has the authority to sign off on exceptions becomes the most powerful man in the history of Lebanon & opens a whole new venue for corruption.
