have you played this? you might like it. my king was in check and i couldn’t save it because another king was also in check on the world axis, but i bought some time by jumping a bishop into the past, thereby moving the “present” line before i got checked

i understood this game much better after watching this seemingly unrelated video which hammers the idea of time as a separate dimensional component of your movement. this game kind of works similarly: bishop moves diagonally but you can choose time as axis

tried playing this again and won by accident because my bishop checkmated a king diagonally into the past

do you remember how everyone iterated on gdpr banner headers for a few months and then everybody pretty much settled on “we care about your privacy”

I made a React interface to accompany my paper on the floor and ceiling functions! The actual math is pretty niche, but the source could be a useful template for anyone wanting to do the same for their own work.

maybe a better name for Server Components would be Disappearing Components. :) the point isn’t that it’s Server Components all the way down. it’s that the parts that can disappear should disappear, and then the rest (interactive bits) works like it worked before.

we won’t have as much coverage on topics that aren’t pure React on day one. eg performance, testing, accessibility, static typing pages aren’t directly ported over. not sure if it’s better to copy and paste stale content or just let it live on the legacy site until we catch up.

the current plan is to keep old docs at a legacy subdomain. old paths will redirect to the legacy subdomain so links will work except for pages that are 1:1 exact ports like the tutorial. the legacy subdomain pages will prominently link to new docs on all pages with good matches

what should stop us from shipping beta.reactjs.org as the main site? i’m trying to see if i missed some blocker. i mean aside from a missing landing page which we’ll try to finish asap

We just released next-mdx-remote v4.3.0, and along with it (experimental) support for server components! If you're playing with the app directory and you use MDX, give it a try and let us know if you've got any feedback.

TIL you can toggle Suspense boundaries in React Dev Tools for easy debugging.
Useful for making sure your loading skeletons line up with your real content.

If you train enought to see people auras, you'll also be able to see esoteric punctuations like the death point, the tniop point, the derealisation mark or the biblically accurate quotation mark.

There is a punctuation mark, I dare not publish it, whose exclusive purpose is to terminate sentences left unfinished because their narrator died

i love singer-songwriter (in the broad sense) as a genre because every one of them creates their own language. and then you just want to know how it maps to your own language, what to take from it, how it connects to other languages. i guess that’s true for all writing
