    Did you know that in humans enamel is laid down over dentine towards the end of tooth development? But in sharks, the crown is covered by enameloid, which develops first! That's why you see hollow crowns of developing teeth in this CT reconstruction of a tooth file.

    Amazing muscle diversity in the bird wrasse, Gomphosus varius. Jaw muscles fast glycolytic, fin muscles slow oxidative, about as red as can be! (Repeat tweet from a couple years ago)
