Started writing something about the importance of presence 👇 but it took me two months to finish it, so that's where I'm at.

I’ve gotten a glimpse at how DG works and can honestly say it’s hands-down one of the best management teams I’ve supported. If this job 👇 is up your alley, you really should apply.

I think we need off-ramps for pundits and “thought leaders” whose ideas have passed their expiration date but who cling to punditing for lack of other options. Like, teach them crochet or something.

What The Times and Status Quo Warriors are objecting to is a process of norm-negotiation. The Times wants to be in a position to impose norms but can no longer. It resents the loss of power. 8/

Maybe it's all a clever ruse to demonstrate that cancel culture *doesn't* exist? Tomorrow's editorial: "We published some terrible analysis and faced zero consequences - do you still believe in cancel culture?"

If I still worked at the NYT, I would seriously think about quitting today.

And we have no right to not be shamed or shunned. In fact, it's the opposite. We all have the right to shame or shun others.

I ask once again: Why does the NYT Op-Ed page exist? And what does it mean that such a long piece was published by The Editorial Board? Does every one of these people agree with it?

sometimes prevailing mass culture among liberals causes harms, it's true but it's hard to understand how this can be usefully compared to a raft of new laws from conservative governments explicitly restricting free speech and free assembly

The false equivalency in the NYT editorial is too much... writing 101: the most important thing goes first. readers will weight the sentence about "the left" more heavily, even with the words "more extreme" in the second sentence. and yet NYT repeats this practice throughout.

This account follows 22 accounts. Most are other official accounts. Only a handful are individuals. They include Barack Obama, Elon Musk… and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

We're reached the hour in the day when I actively start moving tasks onto the next day's to-do list. It shortens today's list and gives me a sense of accomplishment.

Working on a followup to this on the relationship between toxic society and toxic workplaces. Started using a spectrum for work cultures: toxic, stifling, neutral, supportive, nurturing. Is anyone aware of an existing rubric like this? I don't want to invent a new one if so.

All due respect to logistical expertise, but I’m not sure “we leverage our children’s future so a defense contractor can make a tidy profit flying luxury dinners to a country we invaded under false pretenses” is quite the own he thinks it is.

Being a facilitator means that two of the things you wish for most are 1) that people have honest, transformative conversations with one another, and 2) that they finish talking with enough time to do the closing exercise & end on schedule.
