Time to renew CrashPlan. With the new family pricing, it now seems to be a lot more expensive than Arq/Glacier unless you have tons of data.
@mjtsai I’m on the family plan, but can’t remember what I paid. I thought it was $49.

@mhenders When I first got the family plan in 2009 it was $100/year. Now $150. -
@mjtsai Saw the note about Arq as an alternative. For me, the weekly status report is critical. -
@mhenders Arq doesn't do weekly reports, but it can e-mail on success/failure of an individual backup. - View other replies

@mhenders Right. CrashPlan is a good service. Worth the money. My only point was that the storage costs vs. AWS have changed so much. -
@mjtsai I didn’t realize the family plan includes 10 computers. I could add my mom, and save her Backblaze fee.
