Piracy getting even more popular, declining Django book sales, lack of a long requested book section on http://djangoproject.com .
You see where I'm going, right?

You're offering to be my co-author?
-
Heh. I would love to do a pure Python book and be better known as more than just "a django dude". Are you self-publishing or going with O'Reilly again?
-
I'm not self-publishing. Mainly, I'm poking fun at the sad state of progress on the Essential Reference update. Sigh.

Makes one consider only doing print versions...
-
I like to think about it this way: those who pirated the book or the course aren't target audience anyway.
-
That’s a very zen take.
-
It's easy for me, I don't write books and don't have any paid content :) I wonder what actual creators think about such attitude
-
I'll be honest, I don't really have time to think about or to go play "whack-a-mole" with book pirates online. However, if you submit a pirated copy of my own book to my own github repo in a PR, I'm going to call you out as a pirate moron.

User handle? Name and shame!

Could you please post here link to this PR? The joke isn't completed without it.
-
Wow, I see. https://github.com/dabeaz/python-cookbook/pull/20 … I think, you can text to Github support for removing (not just closing) this PR.

I try to keep a positive mind about it. I'm sure my publisher feels different, but if the person really can't afford it but still wants to learn Django I don't mind. I'm just glad I can help someone learn something how fun programming can be.
