Therefore, facts and truth stand at the highest point of a story, and not personality or prevarications. Stories in the last 2 years often began w/ a falsehood, colorfully delivered, in the headlines, & truth/facts reduced to rebuttal status. Impact: Amplification of mistruth.

Another approach to a story. 1. Here are the facts. 2. Here's what someone says. 3. Does it adhere to the facts? Y/N. 4. Here's more about the facts. 5. What's the next step? (Solving a problem, helping others/world).

Still another approach: 1. The facts. 2. The points of view, leading with the people who have the best handle on the facts, the best record of accuracy — not by mere dint of position. 3. assessment of these points of views by facts.

I disagree with this order. Facts first. THEN mentioned that Trump lied. Your order still makes the story about Trump. The facts should be the story.

The problem as always is that the trump quote generates the emotional response (clicks, $), so that is how news will be delivered until we return to paying for quality news

Stop calling it falsehoods! He is lying, he is a LIAR!! And until you all refer to him as such it diminishes the weight of his actions!

Every Trump statement should come with a disclaimer, like “this man is a criminal and liar”

How about if they only report on anything he says that is demonstrably true? A lot less air time and confusion for people who aren’t really paying attention.
