It used to. A lot of the problem is we like to think in terms of purity. "This must be 100% perfect or its ruined." Which is impossible. I honestly think that we have to really get comfortable with anyone taking apart the things we like.https://twitter.com/JanGunnemann/status/1265234483554463747 …

Writing for DMing a RPG got me over this fast. You learn quick, on your feet, and your biggest critical will be you. But, if you're with your friends and having a good time, you'll be ready and willing to give it another go.

That's true... But when i ran the game my (now) ex wouldnt play for any extended period of time & decided they should play video games instead (over multiple sessions this happened). So my notes and plans...
I do miss gming, but i tired of doing work for no appreciation/use.

A friend once said to me "an artist is only ever finished their work when they deem it 'good enough'." Nothing is ever perfect - but art in its imperfections can be perfect to someone else.
-
I'll one up that to a working artist criteria, "a working artist is only ever finished when it's due."

Nothing will ever be perfect, but eventually you get each project to the point where it feels damn near close enough—it’s just about letting go Allow yourself to get absorbed in the act of creation—enjoy the exploration, the shaping of it—& trust that your vision will guide you
