Same problem in Chicago at Cook Co. jail-folks been in -some more than 3 yrs bc they can't post $50-100 USD in bail money-never been to trail-this is INSANE

I just saw all my surrounding DAs hold meetings amongst themselves and the governor to rebuke this as Cuomo is already trying to get it done. As a member of the Dem Committee in my county I know how this stuff works. Especially Upsate. But you seem like an expert too....

The bail system treats the poor as guilty until proven innocent. Only the wealthy are presumed innocent. It's class warfare, and it needs to be dismantled.
