A good reminder of how close we remain to our country’s troubled past. We really are just in adolescence in terms of building an inclusive democracy.

Whose interests are being served by the ongoing expansion of school privatization that benefits a small number of families at the expense of most families that choose public school districts? 🤔

Several people have asked how I feel about STAAR Test scores dropping. I think the fact that we forced our teachers and students to prepare and take a standardized test during a pandemic is a travesty. We should be praising our teachers and students, not condemning them.

Public money ought to go to public schools for the public good. Whether it be vouchers or charters, I'm against any effort, by Democrats or Republicans, to send our taxpayer dollars to private institutions. We should be investing every last penny into our public schools.
