weird that the NPC cliché only now got to meme virality. I've been saying the world has 2k people and all the rest are NPCs for about 10 years now...

I wonder if I (we?) could manipulate them into knowing. That would be a real game worth playing. And if the knowledge would benefit or harm them? Oooh that's even more delectable lol.
-
well, it depends on whether the knowledge would make them PCs or would be just another preprogrammed routine.
-
This raises the question of how much PCs themselves are preprogrammed routines too. It comes down to the old notion of rules, structure and form being the royal roads to content. I think it would ultimately make them PCs. A lethal knowledge of vacuity that also liberates as well.
-
What I mean by the first is that the PC can only operate within the set bounds of the game. He can't just make up new or violate existing conditions and parameters, which reflects how many of us are subjected and interpolated by the world. To be a programmer is really to be a god
-
So I'm thinking about this hypothesis that NPC people whose minds are blown by LSD/Shrooms/DMT etc, often report having their minds blown because it scrambles their thought process in such a way that it forces them to introspect, when they never have previously.

I think psychedelic experience is confirmation of soul, so you might be onto something.
