Oh my gosh that's so sad. Noone should be made to feel like that, EVER!
-
It's
@ContraPoints and she does some great videos that are absurdist comedies about serious issues. -
Thank you Robert but it isn't really that absurd. People are made to feel like that on a daily basis for a variety of reasons. it is certainly thought provoking and heart wrenching.
-
I apologize, the "genre" she makes work in is absurdist comedy. While I didn't intend to erase feelings of pain, out of context that screen doesn't clearly describe the work she does, which is very proactive in regards to these issues.
-
More to let people know what they are getting into if they check her out, as a lot of her videos go heavy into "theater of the absurd" when talking about these issues. Along with standard wordplay jokes.
-
Ah, definitely needed and not for someone like me I think. Sadly I have no sense of humour... I have a sense of the ridiculous. Far too serious apparently. :(
-
It's all good
-
Also the reason why she wasn't really content with herself was because at the time she still identified as a man but after transitioning it seems that she's been happier.

They might feel better if they weren't busy confusing the fuck out of themselves. Just a thought.
-
They might feel better if people just accepted the way they wanna live their life, rather than judging and labelling them "confused"
-
I don't have a problem with accepting people, but living in a constant state of psychological flux does not strike me as healthy, and it seems like something they need to address, in whatever manner will help them.
-
If someone were bipolar or MPD, we'd advise them to seek help, same as we would for someone with any kind of dysphoria. Should we treat this person differently?
-
If they have the sense of flux described in the caption, they could easily have an undiagnosed condition that would benefit from counseling, and could readily be described as confused, without it.
-
Ah, and I'm sure, as you're speaking from a position of true facts over dumb liberal feelings, that you can provide evidence that counselling is a reliable and effective treatment for gender dysphoria?
-
Can you demonstrate that it's not part of the process? Or that it shouldn't be? We have counseling for people that have traumatic amputations, which cause a form of dysphoria, so why would counseling not assist other forms?
-
I'm not sure how counseling shouldn't be part of the process, especially if it leads to confirmation that reassignment surgery is the eventual ideal recommendation.
