And anyone who says they've "hacked the algorithm" is completely full of shit. The engineers who build the crawlers, parsers, indexers, train the models, and design methods for folding result quality back into the models... None of them could tell you how to rank well.

Two years ago. Do diffusion models violate IP? Today. Yes, they probably do unless they will give artists the ability to opt-out.

Diffusion models can be made to regurgitate training data. This adds fuel to the lawsuits Microsoft/OpenAI/StabilityAI are currently facing. And prominent AI researchers like Yann LeCun said these things get inspired like human artists do yet they are just lookup tables.

Yep! We are hardwired to seek shortcuts. So it takes a while for logic to kick in and for us to realize that there is no 'silver bullet'. The fundamentals remain the same even as the methodologies evolve. Great share and timely!
