This is a community issue. Hiring people and not engaging the community is not the right approach. The website is an Ethereum Project resource. Having the EF hiring somebody and doing things in a solo *is the problem*.

This original post was 6 months ago. The whole of the Ethereum Community, who could help with this work, have been excluded from helping for 6 months now and the problem is still a problem. The "somebody else is handling this behind closed doors" is the antithesis of good.

It the alternative is to turn this into an EIP that most of the community ignores and we have to fight tooth and nail to achieve consensus on before a change is made, I’m happy delegating my voice to the EF.

We are taking this decentralization thing too far and adding complexities and uncertainties to processes that don’t benefit from it for the sake of appearing more inclusive.

This is not "wouldn't it be nice if people could get involved". It is the fact that we cannot solve very simple problems in a timely way because we don't want to be rude or pushy. This is basic stuff, people. Sense of urgency! It is a website. Let's fix the website. Really.

It's not about rude or pushy only. It's about trust. Open only works with trust and many of us have trust issues, or we wouldn't be in crypto.

What exactly is the issue of trust with updating the webpage, and why can’t feedback after the fact be used in lieu of a multistakeholder process that may never reach agreement. If efficiency is demanded, why not use an efficient process (e.g. let the EF hire and do it?

It's a bit too weird for twitter. Anyway, we shall see how it goes.

I like weird. I guess I just don’t get the implied distrust. Usually trust minimization is the result of a problem in the trust model, and I don’t see one here. Open source or not, delegation of oversight for certain functions is pretty normal. Linux Foundation does the same.
