I wonder though how we distinguish our own behavior as humans from these same decision trees. Is it the same with a randomized intuition factor that acts as the overide? Though I do love the Scooby do reference..lol.

I do find it quite weird how currently the most advanced AI is such that IRL, it takes a training data set, is given feedback to tweak, and then from there the adjusted algorithm can be applied to novel input. But we also have this mystique around it, as if it 'thinks'

And from there, we speculate that it could be made self-aware, and therefore want to kill all humans of its own volition. But I feel like turning it into an external existential threat in this way actually obscures the role that human failings and abuses of power could play
