We use MRTK in an internal project at @Agence_WanaDev for some features. But for a gamedev project it's too heavy. The less depencies you've, the better the project is easy to maintain.

Nice! Don't forget that Unity has built-in SDK for OpenVR/Oculus/GoogleVR with controllers, etc... A toolkit like that is good, but if you need to install extra SDK, it's just like any others.
