I think that's a distortion by the simulator, not something i noticed in device, but i also wasn't looking for it

I'm pretty sure the simulator is not doing any FOV clipping or adjustment

Yes in fact this was the position of the camera ;) Can't wait to put my hands on a device to polish the port
