Hey #unity community! I'm looking for an online multiplayer service well integrated in Unity. Microsoft's Playfab looks good, not a big fan of Photon last time I tried it. Any recommendations? #multiplayer #online #network #gamedev cc @SimonDarksideJ @unity3d

Playfab and Azure gaming are great services through MS's new gamestack bundle. They also have training days coming very soon

Have you tried it? I would like to find something like UNET. The API was really easy.

Grab the samples for both playfab and Azure from gamestack, really easy to use

I thought if you went off into Playfab then you ended back with Photon at some point unless you'd written your own server? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/gaming/playfab/#pivot=documentation&panel=multiplayer … Did I get that wrong? (haven't looked at it for a while).

Hoo Playfab uses Photon as a backend? So if you use Playfab, you've to use Photon? if yes, I need to find something else :/

Right, took a little digging. Photon is only used for per to peer networking. If you want client server, then that uses Playfab Azure containers and Playfabs SDK. If you are using Azure gaming, it's .NET all the way :D

But do you have to build that server yourself?
