Not saying it was the only problem, but the directional antenna works better if its not facing the ground ;)

Also my VTX was not yet configured. 0.1mw so the range was really small. I made a small test after in 600mw, it was much better!

Nice! Could also be a case of broken antenna connection which some VTX will burn up over! Also i believe its best to do a 45 or horizontal transmitter antenna position instead of up and down, better range and you won't lose connection flying over your head.
