I admit that I am a bit less excited: I hoped in a better increase in resolution, framerate and in the use of OLED displays for better colors. 2880x1700 is more or less the resolution of the Vive Pro that is on the market from a year or such.

At this point, before expressing any opinion, I wait for the price. If it is like $500-$600, it may have sense. It becomes like a new Vive, like a refresh of the Vive for the consumers, as Oculus has made with the Rift S... but much much better than the Rift S.

If it is $900 as someone has rumored, it is out of market, considering that the Reverb costs $600 and has 2K per eye. Another defining factor may be the modular form factor: if it is easy to attach addons like eye tracking to the Cosmos, it can be more expensive.

I think that before judging it, we can only wait. Next week maybe we will have more info on the design and last week we wil discover the price. I'm still curious at this point.

Well not impressed at all for now. I would love to see an hybrid HMD that works on a PC and standalone. Like a Quest that you can use on a regular PC. HTC isn't good regarding price (that was the case with mobiles too), so I don't have hope with this headset. I'm waiting better.

TBH an official release of a tool from oculus that makes the Quest PCVR ready could be so much better. Or anything else that makes VR move forward for customers.

Making bad choices and sell devices for pros will not make VR become mainstream. So for now we can just wait for the price. If it's more than $600 it's not going to work. The Valve Index will be probably better at that price range.
