Do you think webGL will "always" run on Apple devices from now on? Is it standard html tech like CSS or canvas/2dcontext, which now "can't" be removed, or could it go away? Not talking about what's under the hood, (Vulkan or openGL or directX etc), just the "standard"

Apple's been pushing their own WebGPU API based on Metal https://webkit.org/blog/7504/webgpu-prototype-and-demos/ … This doesn't give me a lot of hope for WebGL on Apple devices given what happened to OpenGL on Apple in this situation.

oh dear... I've been really counting on being able to rely upon it... but in the back of my mind I kept worrying it would "flash" out.... although to look on the bright side perhaps webGPU will allow for compute-only gpu stuff? oh well, tech never lasts

We had Ejecta before Apple decides to release WebGL on mobile devices. If it's removed, be sure that a lot some alternative solutions will pop here and there.
