SBBOT have been monitoring Turnstone populations in the Thanet Coast SPA for the last 20 years. The data shows an even greater decline than this study. Disturbance continues to be the main cause of wader assemblage decline in East Kent.

This is a pretty good illustration of how changes in farming practices can affect the landscape and wildlife. Does anyone know who created it?

I decided that this year, every day, I would knit a row on a scarf to mark the corresponding daily temperature/weather of my town. It felt like a good way to engage with the changing climate and with the changing year. A way to notice and not look away. Here's January then.

This pig can put together a puzzle! Not only are pigs sweet and sentient, they're also MORE intelligent than dogs. Despite this, they're one of the most abused animals on the planet. Time for that to change. Please RT! 🧡🐷🧠

This sounds brilliant and provides even more opportunities for universities and museums to engage young people, especially training students to assist in citizen science initiatives! Let's hope the course is available in schools as soon as possible! 🦖 🐔 🗺️🦑🐌🌵🐒🌴

I enjoyed your feature, 'The Nature of Creativity', it made me think, I'm going to re-listen, and hope to write a blog article. This is my own creativity, inspired by nature, newly created! ☺

Well over a year ago, I mentioned I was writing this article, and it's become a bigger piece, also influenced by my wider reading. I struggled with my mental health last year, but I'm getting there. I thought it fair to share a little of what I'm writing ☺️

Dik-dik of the day. They are a tiny species of antelope, named from an onomatopoeia of the repetitive dik sound female dik-diks whistle through their long, tubular snouts when they feel threatened. Their noses are some of the twitchiest of all known noses.
