I have a few. Just have no way to produce them.

Congrats you're one step closer to being a part of antifa. Next free speech isn't worth it because DUMBIES don't get it
-
I fucking AM freespeech.
-
Oh I'm sorry I couldn't hear you over the op tweet literally being antifa and commie talking points on how the market place of an idea is failure. Own up to it you're just a mouthpiece of the radical left ;) just like you claim 'skeptics' are alt right. Or mebe chill

No not at all, I'm pointing out how Dusty is literally nothing but a hypocrite and doesn't hold to his own standards or follow a consistent belief set.

I've been enjoying Peter Coffin's assertion that *attention*, not correctness or accuracy or "best"-ness, is the currency of the MPoI. It helps explain Trump, Peterson, and "internet bloodsports" streams.https://youtu.be/evQa8YZlQtc

Damn you got Dusty on my bullshit here, noice.

We can all use a critique of capitalism, consumerism and neoliberalism every once in a while. It's too easy to forget that there is territory further left that isn't limited civil rights. Even if I don't see it exactly the same, the perspective is invaluable to me.

Speaking of, I just put this beast up.https://twitter.com/petercoffin/status/965837337765834752 …

If the marketplace allowed the best stuff to rise to the top you could listen to top 40 radio without vomiting. You could read 50 Shades of Grey and feel enriched. You could eat at McDonalds and be healthy and fit.
-
macdonalds is the best idea for the profits of the company, 50 shades is the best idea for tapping into an audience once largely neglected in an age where sex isnt scary any more, top 40 is... hmm... well you get it, its about what you want, no objective "bests" really
-
These things are only the “best” if the yardstick you’re using is profits. The second your yardstick is anything else, this whole “marketplace of ideas” thing falls apart.
-
yes, it is all about what is seen as valuable, the 'marketplace of ideas' does not simply favour evidence, it must also be simple to grasp and have some grounding in "common sense"(see biases) before it can even be considered, plus a few loud voices claiming complete knowledge.

Or how easy they are to impose and get people to accept on the back of a brutal marketing campaign paid for by lobbyist scum! Give them a lesser evil and they'll still accept something evil!
